Since I posted last, I left Amsterdam and headed to Dusseldorf/Daisburg, Germany again to stay with my older cousin's family whom I had stayed with for a day before coming to Amsterdam, but never met prior.. Turned out that my cousin had to head to England.. So I only got a chance to hang with him briefly, but he said I could stay with his EX-WIFE and their son.. The ex-wife happened to be a white german woman, which kinda made me feel weird because obviously it was his ex-wife and she wasn't a Nigerian.. She was a bit skeptical too, because she didn't know me at all and didn't know what to expect from my dreaded appearance.. Didn't take long tho before my lil' nephew who speaks no english took a liking to me, and she followed soon after.. After that she was telling me her life story, what it's like to have interracial relationships in Germany of all places, showed me all my little nephew's photo albums, and the possible trips we could go on, during my two-day-only stay.. It was crazy how fast she warmed up to me, I was sad that I had to leave so early, because if there's one thing I love in this world it's family.. Not to mention free housing/free food.! Ill post pics of them later.. After Dusseldorf/Daisburg, I headed to Paris once again because I didn't feel like my stay was long enough in there the first time around.. The weather was shit but overall it was a pretty good time.. I finally saw the Eiffel Tower at its best (@ night when it flashes), walked around some more, and found some amazing vintage shop with some crazy jackets.. I'll post more pics from Paris later too.. From Paris I headed to London, and thats when I hit bottom as far as money goes.. I had literally no money on me whatsoever, and I missed my initial flight from Paris to London.. I'm not gonna go into details, but the whole situation sucked.. Luckily I made it to London and stayed @ my uncle's house.. I had met my Uncle & Aunt once before when they came to Washington D.C. for a reunion, but other than that I really didn't know their family all too well.. I met my cousins for the first time too! Two guys, 22 and 21, and a girl by the age of 18.. Each day they took me out and showed me their own little version of life in London.. They're each so different its crazy.. The funniest thing though is just hearing them talk.. They honestly have the strongest british accents.. I can barely hear what my 22 year old cousin is saying, because he speaks so quick and with so much LDN slang.. Look out for the new words I'll be using when I get back home.. But yesterday, I hung with the 21 year old cousin and he took me out to Russel Square to get my glasses fixed.. It was crazy going back there, because that's the exact spot where I started out my journey so it was only right to go back and look at it once again.. After that he took me to some shopping mall in the hood, then out to homie's house to kick it with his best friends.. What was only supposed to be a brief stay, turned into a whole night thing.. His homie smoked a crazy amount of bud, so not suprisingly we had to leave to get some food.. I've never, ever considered eating Nigerian food after getting the munchies.. But that's exactly what we had haha.. They took me to this Nigerian restaurant and I ended up eating chicken suya (spicy chicken), jollof rice, plaintain, and mou-mou.. Shit was bomb! After that we came back to his homies flat, and just talked forever about all types of existential shit, and girls of course.. I was feelin pretty sick all day, which my cousin knew but he wasn't even gonna let me go home early and rest up.. We left his homie's flat @ 3 am and instead of heading home, we met up with my other 22 year old cousin at a funky-house party.. It was the craziest club/party I've ever been too.. I really wish my camera had been actually snapping pictures like I thought it was, because what panned out had to be one of the top things I've ever witnessed.. The club let out @ 4:45-5:00am so there was mad people on the streets. And what happens when you have mad (hood) black people on the street? Fights break out haha.. My cousins made me sit in the car, because people would mistake me from being from Tottenham, Essex, or some other London neighborhood (they're real serious about reppin their "hoods" out here).. It turned out that my spot was actually the best in the place.. I was pretty much safe as I seen people bring bats, crowbars, and knives from their trunks and pretty much just started fighting "The Warriors" style. Even though they had bats, crowbars, and knives.. I only seen one person actually be hit by the bat in the back.. The crowbars and knives were basically just for scaring people and breaking windows, etc.. It was a straight riot on the streets though.. I was so geeked in the backseat, because I thought I was getting this whole thing on my camera :( This would have been the blog post of the year haha.. Oh well.. This whole shit went on for about a half hour before the cops and riot police showed up.. I thought the shit would die down, but at one point it got even worse.. The cops blocked off both sides of the road so inbetween was just straight chaos.. It's hard to explain, but shit eventually died down and people started trickling down as did the cops.. We finally got back home at 730am.. So I finally saw a different side of London that I knew had to exist.. Soo much for the West End and SoHo.. omg this lil dude is gangster!
